Website Terms of Use
Last updated 27 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of crystalkarat.com, which is run by Richard Ackroyd, trading as CrystalKarat ("we", "us", "our"). By using the site you accept them. Buying a licence is covered by our Terms of Sale, using our software by the EULA, and personal data by our Privacy Policy.
1. Using the site
1.1 The site is free to use. We do not promise that it, or any part of it, will always be available or uninterrupted, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any of it without notice.
1.2 You must not misuse the site: do not try to gain unauthorised access to it, its servers or any account; do not introduce viruses or other harmful material; do not overload it with automated requests or scrape it; do not use it to share licence keys or to get around licensing or trial limits; and do not use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close an account used in breach of this section.
2. Content on the site
2.1 We own, or are licensed to use, the content of the site, including its text, images, audio, demonstrations, code and design, and the CrystalKarat and Forge names and logos. You may view it and print or download extracts for your own reference, but not copy, reproduce or reuse it otherwise without our written permission.
2.2 The demonstrations run in your browser to illustrate how our software behaves. Content on the site, including help articles, is general information. When you buy, the product page describes what you are buying, and the free trial lets you check it on your own system.
3. Links
Links to other websites are for your information only. We have no control over those sites and are not responsible for them.
4. Our liability
4.1 If you are a consumer, we provide the site for domestic and private use. We are not responsible for any loss of profit, business, business interruption or business opportunity, and are responsible only for foreseeable loss caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
4.2 If you are using the site for a business, we exclude all implied conditions, warranties and terms that may apply to it, to the extent the law allows, and we have no liability to you for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or any content on it.
4.3 We are not responsible for a virus or other harmful technology that infects your device through your use of the site, unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
4.4 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else for which the law does not allow liability to be limited or excluded. Your rights when you buy are set out in the Terms of Sale.
5. Changes and law
5.1 We may change these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and the version in force when you use the site applies.
5.2 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there. If you are using the site for a business, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
